Everyone has been buzzing lately about Bumble’s beautiful queen bee getting married. Whitney Wolfe is the founder and CEO of the popular feminist dating app. Her new husband is oil heir Michael Herd. The pair were married on Italy’s breathtaking Amalfi Coast during the first weekend of September 2017.
A Glimpse Of The Glamorous Wedding
Whitney Wolfe was a vision of elegance in her white form-fitting Oscar de la Renta gown. The wedding was held at Villa Tre Ville in Positano. Instagram followers were able to see a few photos from the wedding that included a view of the reception location, which overlooked the picturesque Italian villas along the coast from a perfect vantage point. Tables were set with gold-rimmed printed dishes, pink napkins, delicate crystal glassware and gold flatware. The outdoor dining area was on a balcony with a ceiling of vines and pink flowers that accentuated Whitney’s gorgeous decoration choices. Old-fashioned candles made the table settings look even more romantic with a touch of old-world charm.
There were two pictures of Whitney in her stunning lacy gown with its fanned train. Her sheer embellished veil was even longer and looked exquisite spread out over the train. In one of the photos posted on Instagram, the veil was being attached as Whitney stood in front of a doorway with light spilling around her. The other photo showed her looking back over her shoulder as she stood in an outdoor walkway surrounded by trees and a rustic frame.
There were a few candid snapshots of the wedding posted on Instagram. They included two pictures of the newly married couple at their reception. For the post-wedding celebration, Whitney wore an off-white silk slip dress. In one photo, Whitney gave Michael a kiss as they stood in front of their single-tier wedding cake adorned with fresh strawberries. The wedding photos were posted with a hashtag that said #homeiswheretheherdis. Family members and close friends attended. These were the only details provided about the private wedding. Although the couple have not yet officially announced their marriage, they plan to do it soon. Whitney’s fans will learn more about the wedding’s details after the official announcement, and there will surely be more photos.

What Is Next For Bumble?
Although Whitney Wolfe plans to spend more time with her new husband, she is not planning on slowing down the pace with Bumble. The young entrepreneur originally launched the dating app in 2014 and has gained millions of users since then. Bumble is headquartered in Austin, Texas. It stands out from competing apps because it lets women make the first move. Also, it uses a simple and quick swiping platform. Whitney believes that women should take the first step in every part of their lives and wants to empower them with her creative apps. Many women also used the original Bumble dating app to find friends, which inspired Whitney to create the Bumble BFF feature. When women switch the Bumble app to BFF mode, they can instantly view other women who are only looking for friends instead of combing through pages of dating profiles to look for tag lines indicating interest in friendship.
The Bumble BFF extension has already been successful since its recent launch. One of the reasons why the BFF feature was added was to empower women through friendship. It was designed with relocation in mind. Since many young women move away from their home cities to large metro areas where they do not know anyone, the app helps them find new like-minded friends quickly. As a busy young professional who has lived in six big cities already, Whitney understood the pain point of needing new friends but lacking the time to look for them. The BFF extension gives women the chance to develop a support system of friends and network with other female professionals in their new city.
The second benefit led Whitney to think even further ahead for another Bumble feature. Bumble Bizz will be the next app extension designed specifically for women to network with other female professionals. Bumble Bizz will launch sometime in the fall of 2017. Whitney and her team at Bumble encourage interested women to follow them on Facebook if they want to be a part of the new feature as soon as it is live. Bumble Bizz will be available for both Android and iOS users. Women who join will be able to expand their brands, become mentors, look for mentors and connect with professionals within their industry.
